Subject Change: Physics Unit 1 to Economics Unit 2

Hi all,

Before you continue, please don't feel the need to answer all these questions. ANY information I can get, even slightly related to my questions will be greatly appreciated.
I'll just get straight into it:

1. What does VCE Economics entail?
I've read the study design, I've looked at past exams but they're basically meaningless to me, considering I know literally nothing about economics.
I'm more concerned with what kind of studying does Economics require: is it vital to take notes? Can I self-teach? (I am incapable of listening properly in class) Is it an understanding or memory-based subject? And most importantly, did you find the content interesting or boring?

2. Is it worth switching from Physics to Economics?
I've talked to my co-ordinator (who also happens to be my Physics teacher) and was advised that I CAN switch to Economics in Unit 2 and then have the option of either subject for my final year, however, it is important to note that Physics Unit 2 is much more relevant to Units 3/4 than Unit 1 is. Do I need Economics Unit 2 to be able to study unit 3 and 4? Is there too much to catch up on and am I too late? I'm looking to do a possible commerce degree (probably majoring in finance and as part of a double degree) and I have had little to no exposure to any of these commerce-related subjects. Is Economics a good indication of what I should expect at Uni or it doesn't really matter?

Thanks in advanced,
