Hi Sundayrose,
I was sort of in your predicament a year but instead of physics, I was wondering whether I should go with 2 englishes or do 3/4 PE.
I ended up doing English and english language in the end. It's an uncommon English combination out of all the combinations mentioned before and I only know 4 other people in my year level who are following through with 3/4 English and English language. Nevertheless, I enjoyed both subjects and can't really decide which I like better. I like English for it's flexibility and the creativity element in the context section. While with English language, I liked the structure and learning all the language used to describe and analyze texts as well as how language plays important role in society.
Now most people pick english either because it's the one they're most comfortable with because of the similarity to year 7-10 English or it's their only option. But if you're doing Englang or lit, keep in mind that you'll need to learn how to write the essays correctly so there might be some extra work here. Whereas with English you're just building off skills you learned in year 7-10.
But since you're in year 11, luckily you have time to experiment. I suggest that if you're not that keen on doing two englishes you should do Englang and physics. If aver unit one, you hate either Englang or physics, you can always transfer to normal English
