Heyy,
I was just wondering is it easier or harder to achieve a certain mark at certain universities than others? For example, is it easier to get an 80% at Somewhere like La Trobe University or Vic uni (not degrading them, just using as an example) than it is at Melbourne or Monash? If so, would it not be logical for anyone hoping to do postgraduate studies to attend schools other than Melbourne for a higher chance of getting in due to higher scores?

Short answer, not really.

I have studied at both La Trobe and Monash in the past.

The only difference I could identify really is the policy for moderating grades etc. (e.g. whether marks are issued based on a curve, or whether they are all given based on merit). I know for Edu at Monash, some units enforce a maximum number of HD's they can issue for assessment items... don't know if this is the case anywhere else.
