I think it’s a change for the better, since people will actually like a post based for its quality, and that most users will stop comparing themselves to the number of likes as well. Won’t fix everything, but it’s a step in the right direction

I think that it will take some getting used to, but is definitely a good thing!

I think it's a pretty good move - Although only in select countries right now.
I understand this is probably really great for some as they may no longer feel the pressure to post generic ig stuff just for likes but actually be innovative and original with their posts. It may also induce others who haven't posted before to feel comfortable being involved without the "success" of the post being dictated by likes.

Now they just need users to have more control over their feed - e.g. chronological order (which I think is the best) but also the option for certain algorithms if people wanted that.

Interesting move. I have my doubts about whether it'll actually help support Instagram's growth though, which is ultimately what they are focused on.
