Imagery however could be used within a motif. If this is in the context of language analysis you don't necessarily need to name the technique (which can get tiresome and dull) but can still analyze it without explicitly naming it.

i have used this in my creative piece and am trying to write a statement on intention and i don't know what to call it. any ideas

call what? Is your statement of intention structure (i.e. a series of questions or do you have to formulate your own ideas)

I'd perhaps classify it as imagery. There's nothing more distinctive that I can currently think of.

It's also figurative language, because memories don't literally flood anything. Does your core text use figurative language?
