Hello all,

If in the Trials I get bad marks across all my subjects, let's say I only got Band 3s and Band 4s.

Can I still make a comeback in the HSC with Band 5s+? Would my ATAR be above 75+?

Haven't got any marks back for my trials but I'm not feeling positive about English and Senior Science!

Hello there! Definitely not too many questions at all, that is what we are here for!

You absolutely can. Trials results are definitely not an indicator of HSC success, and if you work hard you can definitely pull those Band 3's/4's up into the 80's! And yes, that would probably put you above 75 for your ATAR!

It's just about gritting your teeth and putting in a butt tonne of work!! It's not an easy thing to jump 20 marks in one course, let alone a couple. But it is definitely something you can do - Stay positive!

Heyy, so I don't know jack about the ATAR but I can tell you my HSC journey last year in Mathematics (context: I'm doing HSC this year, but I accelerated in Mathematics).
In the half yearly, I got 58% - I was devastated.
I worked my ass off and got in the 70s for my trials.
I again worked my ass off and got an 84 for Mathematics.
Totally possible to bounce back from low marks as long as you work hard.
I obviously don't know as much as Jamon, but I thought my experience might help
