I'm not sure about any shows that are specifically great for VCE Biology knowledge, however I would recommend a doco called 'the most unknown'. I found it quite interesting as it covered some of the newest and furthest Arms of recent science.

It's not on Netflix, but I highly recommend the BBC series "Walking with Cavemen." Really, really relevant to Unit 3 AOS 1 on human evolution. I know it's available on Google Play, might be able to find it on some other services too.

You would probably study more efficiently if you just did work directly relating to the vce study design. In the end of the year exam it is the knowledge/content you know of the study design which gets you the study score not what extra external stuff you know about. However, it's definitely ok if you wish to expand that knowledge and sometimes can be valuable to know a little extra.

I think Insanipi has an excellent biology news related thread. More efficient than watching a full documentary in my opinion.
IHowever I believe Netflix has some interesting ones on GMO foods and on antibiotic resistance.
