ATAR NOTES SHORT COURSES
Hi everybody! We're so excited this December to be offering
ATAR Notes Short Courses. These courses are designed to help you extend your skills and capabilities beyond theoretical classroom knowledge.
All are welcome! There are three Short Courses through December:
> Intro to Coding (10-day program)> Intro to Public Speaking (2-day program)> Intro to Medicine Interviews (2-day program)
This Intro to Coding Short Course introduces students of all backgrounds to computing and coding, with an emphasis on creating games, projects, and other useful tools. Programming will be taught in Scratch and Python (a common language taught to first-year university students).
After completing the course, students should be confident in using their newfound abilities to make their own programs in the future, in the knowledge they have learnt from some of Australia's best tutors.
Public speaking is one of the most important and valuable skills, and can be used to distinguish a good student from a great future leader. All it takes is a few simple techniques and strategies to become a charismatic speaker.
This course will help you overcome nervousness, come up with a captivating story, engage your audience effectively, and even improvise skilfully.
This course has been designed to give you an edge over other applicants - present or future. With a focus on how to approach common questions, an overview of important background knowledge (e.g., ethics, current health issues), and practice of responses and techniques in MMI (Multi Mini-Interview) stations, you will come away from this course with:
> Knowledge of what examiners are looking for
> Confidence in approaching and answering questions
> Awareness of common question types
> Plenty of practice in the best ways to respond to questions
