How hard is University Maths? Oh and major selection help =)

Ok I just wanted to get an idea of how hard university maths is... since i got into Teaching/Arts(Maths) at ACU... It says I'll be taking Calculus and Statisitics in semester 2... So how hard will that be? I'm a little worried lol.

Also the university specifies I'll have 2 arts majors, Maths and something else, I don't know what to choose, it's Japanese,Italian, Religion, Information Systems,Literature or History. I haven't completed those languages so I may as well not consider them.. anyways any suggestions? I was thinking I.S

you should be fine with maths if you did methods/spesh

the pace is faster at uni, but if you do the work, and ask for help when you are stuck then you should be fine

Religion as a major will be based on Theology i think. My sister did education at ACU and every religion subject was pretty much Theology. The Bible always seemed to be near her when she was doing homework!
History might be interesting!
Information Systems could be useful in a classroom. I don't know though.

If I were you I'd choose Literature! Or possibly history. But I'm obviously not you... I imagine that you have different interests to me.

As for calculus and stats, calculus is covered somewhat in the methods course. It would probably be easier if you had done spesh, but I doubt that it's something you need to worry about too much. If you got in, then you met the required prereq's. As for stats, I doubt that spesh would have helped you much for that... I don't actually know.

The 'Teach Yourself Calculus' book by P. Abbott is pretty good, it's part of a series of books. It's about as big as a novel so you can read it anywhere and it is also concise and clear, I thought :p
