mod question (non cas)
« on: November 09, 2009, 11:13:48 pm »
hey guys
im one of those unfortunate who simplified root X^2  into x

for this and the following deriv question (i carried thru my error), what marks would i get? (2 for i and 2 for ii)

On itute solutions

part 1, they don't have a modulus sign around the x but for part 2, they have the two different cases.
so based on that, it would be 2 for i and 1 for ii.

But if the | | is meant to be there, then 1 for the 1st and 1 for the 2nd.

My assumption:
I was wondering why part i was worth 2 marks, possibly 1 mark for the f(g(x)) and 1 mark for modulus? or maybe just 1 for attempting to replace every x value with g(x) and 1 for the correct solution.
So it's more likely you'll get 1 for having attempted it ( assuming that you needed the modulus) or maybe 1 for the modulus.
Either way, you should get at least 1.

for part 2: I think 1 for each derivative, so if you have one, then it should be 1 mark.

Yeah I'm thinking zero for at least the second part of that question, because a domain would be required lol. :(
