from what i know, foundation studies is made up of mainly international students. This a course for people who have finished high school, but aren't exactly prepared for uni, that helps as a "foundation" for uni. not sure what trinity is, although i think it's a college were it houses people. My friends goes to foundation btw

Trinity college is one of the residential colleges in UoM, however I don't know much about the foundation studies thing they run.

A friend of my is currently doing a diploma/advanced diploma or something in general studies at TAFE and she wants to do the Bachelor of Commerce at Melbourne Uni...
Im just wondering though...would she have to go through Trinity College or would her diploma in general studies would be enough for her to get into Commerce?

foundation studies is equivalent to VCE, it can be completed in 1.5 years or 2 years depending on their ability. The good thing about foundation studies is that there is much much less competition compared to VCE.
