What is a good balance between school/work/sport

hi, i'm currently going into year 11 and i just wonder what is a good balance between school, work and sport. i currently work 4 hrs during the week and 13 on the weekend, as well as playing tennis 2 nights a week (about 3hrs per night).

i fear that i am doing too much and really need to cut down not only this yr but most definitely next yr, but how little is too little. i know that it is near impossible to study 24/7, but am i doing too much???

it depends on what your aiming for
ie if you want some incredible 95+ enter you may want to reduce working hours quite a bit

personally i think the 13 hours on weekend will be what you need to change as weekends will often be used to catchup on study during year 12

it is however important to include other activities in your life so that you have a break from vce now and then

Year 11 you can continue doing what you usually do. Its over-rated if youre not doing any 3+4 subjects. I managed to do all that this year easily.

This year for year 12 though im cutting out half my sport so ill only be doing like 6hours a week of it.

I did 2 3/4s in year 11 (neither of which are considered typical year 11 3/4s), and I was exceptionally involved my extra-curricular program. I generally had 6 hours of rehearsal every Saturday, concerts most weeks, rehearsals for school orchestra on Thursday afternoons (and additional ones around our combined concert), and most of my lunchtimes were filled with various activities. I also had a lot of meetings for groups after school, and hosted a French exchange student for 6 weeks.

Moral of the story - it's definitely possible to do a LOT in year 11. Take advantage of it while you can :)

Don't give up your sporting activities. Keep doing those as you'll enjoy the break away from VCE. As with work, you might find it hard working on a school night (Mon-Thurs) and be able to fit all your study in as well. I used to do that in year 10 and found it too hard to handle so I cut out any shifts I had on Mon-Thurs.

Stick with tennis... the exercise will be a welcome release from study.

You probably won't need to cut back on your work hours while you're in year 11, but I would advise doing so for year 12.
