The health sector has HUGE amounts of government money poured into it. Being a Doctor = $$$$$$. Who wouldnt want that kind of money? (theres also other factors, i know). Also as a society, becoming a doctor is viewed as a very high achievement, so alot of people when they aim high, they aim for Medicine.

This is probably the main reason why people do medicine.

If you want money do a commerce degree. You can make huge money as an actuary.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do :) The course sounds great, but you have to do so many exams in the Institute of Actuaries, Australia to become an accredited actuary. Luckily, doing a Bachelor (Hons) gives you exemptions for parts I and II. ;)
