hi, i read up on my vce booklet bout gettin a extra 5 points for lotes...
wat exactly does these "5points" mean lol

it means that the mean for each LOTE gets 5 points added on to it before it is scaled, which is why the means are so high and which is in turn also why the scaling is so high.  if the mean is ridiculously high, then the subject will scale above 50.

This explains why the maximum score you can get is 55, not 50 (usually scaling stops at 50)
