Find the values of b and B if the general equation of the graph shown is y = (e^(x + b)) + B. Give your answers correct to 2 decimal places.

I was not able to use simultaneous equations to solve this:

I ended up with: e^(1+b) +e^b = -4

From there, factorizing was no good....

Can you show me the steps through this?

The graph is in my picture now

huh? what graph???

anyway with that equation:

which is not possible as e^b is always greater than 0...can you provide the points the graph gives, you may have made a mistake in previous working...

Then factorise...

then rearrange using magic or the way you've been taught to get

Then use calculator (as question asks for decimal places) and you should get b=0.84, then just sub into either 1st or 2nd equation to obtain the value of B!
