HMMM, i don't know anything about the University system and i have a couple of questions that i want to ask.

Are there any point of doing better than others? or do you just need to pass to graduate the bachelor? and you will get the same regconition as the ones that have better scores that you.

What are credits?
It's all over now..

Yes there is point in doing better. Passing the required amount of units will get you the degree, however employers will certainly look at your academic record before recruiting you. Someone with a WAM (Weighted Average Mark) of 85% is going to look a lot better than someone simply scraping through with 55%.

Another incentive for doing well is postgraduate study. If you decide to pursue your given area and do Honours/Masters whatever you will need to achieve a certain level, and basically the higher your marks the better the reflection on you.

However, do note that the scores you achieve in the final year(s) of your degree are far more important than when you start, and will be considered accordingly.

Also courses that use honours grading system (such as engineering) will display on your degree that you passed with honours. Employers would look at this better and employ you over someone else. However basically once you're in a job, going for a second job would be more weighted based on your experience in that first job

another point: for some course, if u do general for the first yr such as engineering, u need a good mark to get into percific course such as civil engineering, since its a popular course and there wont be enough space for everyone. so if u just pass. u may not get into the course u want

I think you mean major there.  The course is Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) but the major is civil engineering.

Also if you plan to do the Melbourne Model and wish to move on to the Masters degree, for example study a bachelor of science and then do a masters of engineering, then you need a certain minimum mark to get into that masters degree. Basically it's all dependent on what course you do. Also I know Law at Monash uses a bell curve grading system so it's direct competition between others

1.  You will probably need a postgrad degree in this day and age.
2.  You might need to do an internship, and getting a good placement depends on the state of your transcript.
3.  I was told, after getting a H1+ on an essay, that such examples are very appropriate to provide to potential employers.

So yes.
