Holidaying during holidays

As the title says, have people holidayed interstate or overseas in the 2 week breaks in year 12? What are peoples take on this? Do people actually use this period efficiently, or is it better to go off on vacation to recover a decent state of mind before school resumes

Personally, I may be going with the school on a trip to Italy in the 2 weeks during term 1 holidays of 2011, and maybe even extending our stay through to the first week of term 2.  Would this be detrimental to my schooling? I'd have a Biology and Chemistry Exam..

EDIT: Oh and what about the summer holiday before year 12 ? Advisable to push through the course yourself or enjoy your last moments of educational freedom?

I was overseas for most of the summer holidays before year 12 and I didn't do a whole lot of work in the 1st and 2nd term holidays. 3rd term was just a study fortnight, but the others I used as a chance to just do some revision and get up to speed...worked out pretty well. If you do the work during the semester, you can actually enjoy your time off.

Well, we've already checked the dates off with the APs, so it's fine. :) All we need now from our end are performers...

lol, AND TO PRACTICE OUR COMBINED ITEM WHICH WE ARE YET TO EVEN PICK!!!

ANd co-ordinating the rehersals.....*shudders* ....lol, hmmmm mabys i should delegate that nightmare to damien..... :P
