Whats the difference?! one requires 75 enter, the other one 95
their descriptions are so awfully similar, apart from the honours year... but i heard you can do that with normal bachelor of science anyway
whats the dealio!!

i believe its exactly the same except that it includes the honours guaranteed* in with the course...

*must obtain Distinction average across 24 points in level 3 - i think i was reading that right...

which is exactly the same requirement when you do normal science.....

so i guess in the end its the same

I think you do a more research oriented version of SCI2010 in Sci Adv.

The advanced guys get a special room where you need to swipe a card to get in - supposedly it isnt that great...

I might be confusing it with Dean's Scholars though....but then again i swear one of my ScAdv friends goes into that room regularly so yea

Also it doesn't state it, but the Sci Advanced comes with a scholarship. Basically if you choose to do Science, put first preference as Sci Scholar, 2nd as Sci Advanced, then 3rd as Science

Enter scores work on demand, so there isn't as much demand for science at monash, so its 75. Whereas melb uni science is like 89 because the demand is high.

And is it also because there are a lot of spaces for science? Say, as opposed to Pharmacy? Or is it just purely based on demand?

BAdvSci is a more 'special' course, and the faculty make special allowances (such as 2nd year research units) to these kids because they are 'special' [high achievers who will do honours and etc]. You have more leeway in terms of customizing your pathway and getting approval for special units and overload and such.

BSciScholar is the special group of the special group, they get a scholarship, more often than not they get hand-picked by professors to undertake research units and they have the option of advancing to honours in two years [compared to 3], and most don't deal with the annoying first year prerequisites, some compulsory crap, and even get permission to do units that require prerequisites they have not met.

BSci is generic, you get treated like crap, unless you piss enough people off or have ridiculously high grades, overloading and special units won't get approved easily.

Hmmmmmmm... so if one decided that they wanted to do BSc... and can possibly get a high enough enter to get into BScAdv. Just go for BScAdv? Even though it doesn't sound like they get THAT much special treatment

You should preference the BSc Advanced before the generic BSc, certainly.
