Eg, editing the first post to say:

NOTE: This thread has been split from http://vcenotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,1287.30/

This should be done as it can often be confusing what exactly a thread is about if you were not on at the exact time the derailment took place, and due to the permanent nature of a forum, this would aid cohesion yada yada.

Or you could force administrator/moderator actions to be automatically displayed like they do on Whingepool
