2006? and it was sara. she was a hard marker, but a good teacher. my 1st essay came back with more red writing than there was essay. but also advice on how to improve, and englang ended up being my best subject (41).

i took latin 1-4 through distance ed, and sat the exam at cae. if you haven't done a language through distance ed., you get weekly 'worksets' of grammar, exercises & translation which you email or post in, and also phone convos with your teacher in the language. there's also sacs which you either sit at your homeschool, or at the VSL, or you get some authorised person to be your own invigilator if the other options can't be arranged. It's harder to keep motivated and organised without an in person language class though. i took french in real classes and latin by mail and got (raw) 33 for latin and 34 for french, so i guess it works out about even.

I go to CAE too, It's not too bad, some of the teachers and classes are better than others. A few are actually excellent, there are quite a lot of nice people @CAE also, and it has a good location (next to cafes and other shops)
