Does it necessarily have to be something that has impacted you in the last two years (in vce)? For example, if somebody in my family passed away a long time ago, would it still count?

Well it probably didn't have a noticeable impact on your studies then, did it? You could probably still incorporate it into an application, though. But I doubt it would substantiate a claim by itself.

They dont even consider bad circumstances in year 10 and 11 anywhere near as much as in year 12 let alone from times even earlier. You can apply for family circumstances consideration however you need a compelling case for a category like that.

You should've gotten derived exam scores for mid-years with this.
