Q85 is on pg 26. Did you make a typo or something?

Anyway, I reckon checkpoints for methods is bad...

Checkpoints is OK, just basically the same as the VCAA past papers :P

Yeah.  I just did a 2002 exam today.  It was really easy.  Only thing on there which isn't on there now is the hypergeometric distribution, which is actually really easy. :)

Examiners report -> 0 marks 99%. Almost every student was stumped at this question. It was designed to see if students could RTFQ and take it literally. Clearly, this exposes the rote nature of VCE mathematics, something that this question, brilliantly, has brought to light.
