English score....doomed exam!!!

Ok I just literally screwed up my English exam.... :'( I ran out of steam at the context and couldn't come up with anything related to my context pieces. So I ended up writing several blog entries from a white guy's perspective on an asian transfer student (belonging and identity- Asians growing up in Australia...that wasn't even the text I studied = =) I was wondering if I still have a chance of doing ok. I've got 195/200 for sacs altogether which is A+ but what if I get like a B+ to A on the exam? Do I have a chance of getting high somewhere in the high 30s??????? I might go and cry in the corner from depression now >_<

I'm sure you'll be fine. When your expectations of yourself are so high, it's easy to think that anything you've written which is below your best is utterly rubbish. However, it's quite difficult to go from being able to write amazing pieces to suddenly writing trash. It's probably no where near as bad as you thought it was and I'm sure you could at least scrape high 30s if not much higher given that you've already got an A+ on SACs. Remember that SACs is half the English mark as well.

Just out of curiosity did you just spend too much time on the others or did you sit there unable to write cos you couldn't think of something (mental blank)? So glad that didn't happen to me today. A couple of days ago I got 2 paragraphs done in 50 minutes and it freaked me out, it happens to everyone from time to time. Just for an unfortunate few it's in the actual exam :(

A combination of both, really. I spent too long on the language analysis.. and as a result, I had this huge mental blank. Couldn't think of anything to write at all. I spent the last 40 minutes just sitting there.

Growing Up Asian in Australia is a collection of short stories that explore what it's like to grow up as an asian in Australia. Simple.

While it wasn't the text I wrote on for the exam, I did study it. By the sounds of it your context story sounds fine. It's a very broad novel. The experiences the people go through in the book could be translated to any other culture. I'm sure your context is fine so long as it addressed the prompt.
The dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

OMG thankyou thankyou thankyou...i've been depressed since yesterday coz I've always got full marks on context and that was a huge blow to me >< I wrote several blogs 1)how asian girl doesn't talk and she's fob so no one want to be he friend, etc 2) asians studying hardcore, etc 3)eating weird food such as seaweed 4)strict family with limited party and not allowed to date, etc 4) different sense of fashion and the I concluded it with a counter argument kind of thing. and hw each of these thins got viewed in the eyes of a white guy (although I'm an asan girl mysef ^^") I'm glad that you said this coz I woulve continued to grieve XD
