yeah thats what i said

sweet.  and yeah dw about multi choice. i stuffed up 2 on the midyear and still got a fairly decent mark.  it is the short answer where people who don't know their stuff get found out, and you studied heaps, i can tell from your posts, so i'd imagine you did well. :D

I hope so. I felt pretty confident that I got them all correct, whereas on the midyear I didn't think I got them all but I did. (guessed the laundry powder and light one correctly :) )

same.  but it is weird.  walked out of midyear feeling like absolute shit, and it worked out okay.  walked out feeling great this time for exam 2, so hope that doesn't mean I did bad :S

w0000t!! lolz.
i got all the same answers as you guys thus far :P
that redness question tricked the shit outta me first time round i was like dude wtf?! put down B, went to check it afterwards and still had B :) Also that hok gene one confused the shit outta me for a bit, i had to reread it a few times write out some notes then i was like omfg i was right the entire time :p
i think i would have dropped 1 possibly 2 on MC :(

read through this: http://www.vcehelp.com.au/vce-biology-unit4-exam-2010-1233/
still 50 - 50 with the difficulty of this exam so all is looking good for a lower A+ cutoff!

Yeah, everyone I've spoken to feels a lot better about this exam than they did about the mid-year. I think there were still enough little things to keep the top students separated though.

I personally think it was a little on the easy side, so mistakes are going to hurt :(

My problem with it was it didn't really require to you apply or understand the biology all that much... all you had to do what spit out shit you remembered (evidenced by 10% of the paper being regurgitating transcription/translation) I just think in situations like that it changes around the balance of who gets marks and who doesnt

and another 10% on natural selection / speciation

The founder effect question too, i think half the questions were very obvious to what they were hinting..
Rest were unclear but still...

I think midyear (if i recall correctly) had more kind of application stuff going for it

Yeah. Mid-year was really really molecular. And by that I mean the boring type of molecular - all those pathways and the like.

Ugh I did not like this exam.
Mid-year i felt confident and got a mid A+ (135/150)
but i made really stupid mistakes in this exam. very disappointed.
