im confused, people are saying that in 2007 which was nowhere near as hard as yesterdays exam someone got 88% for a premiers award. thats top 5 in the state. meaning another 15-20 ppl got a 50 also. that leaves another 160 to get 45+. surely they all too didn't get 85%+ which is 102 out of 120. and apparently someone got 49 last year with 105 which was an easy exam. my ranking is highest possible for our school but im just curious cuz i wouldn't be hoping for a high 40 if i hadnt read these statistics on vce notes about 49 being 105.

It's all a very convoluted process involving SAC marks, cohort rankings and your final exam mark. There's nothing you can do now except wait. Or alternatively, write a letter to VCAA about the 'compare and contrast' question :)

Yeah its quite difficult to be completely accurate.

Last year, the girl i posted who got 49 with 105/120 was a student of Malpeli's so i'm sure he wasn't lying there..

But depending on how things go this year, then it could be the same - being in a strong cohort will ensure 105/120 is high 40s, with 110/120 being close to 50 if not that.
