Is it true everyone ATAR be publish in the newspaper? Or is it only for students who get 80 over?
Is there a way not to get it publish?

Earlier in the year you should have filled out a document for the VCAA, where there was a box saying "release my subject scores etc. to the newspapers etc."

That's where you can refuse permission. And only students with >40 subject scores are published, but every score made available is used for rankings etc.

From what I know it will the students who acheived 40+ in each subject Vcaa offers. Your name and school will also be listed if you acheive a 40+.
2011:

English 35, Further 45+, Methods 35, Physics 32, Turkish 33, Legal 28.

ATARs don't get published... only scores of 40+ do..

However, you may be in the newspapers as a part of an article; eg. you get a 99.95 or any other 'special' reason.

It's only subject scores that are released in newspapers (i.e. Herald Sun), not ATARs.

From what I know it will the students who acheived 40+ in each subject Vcaa offers. Your name and school will also be listed if you acheive a 40+.

That's correct.

When my brother did VCE (9 years ago), I think they published ENTERs in the newspaper, and that's how people found out what they got. They also published University offers (Disclaimer: Don't quote me on any of this, I was 8 years old!)

Now, most people can access their scores via the internet or SMS service, and the rest can wait for the letter, so it's no longer necessary for it to be published where everyone can see. Only 40+ SS get published, under "Top Achievers".
I won the GAT: 49/50/50.
