+1 i used to be flawed by my expression too.
the way to fix it is to just let go of trying to overcomplicating the sentence, aim for the 'less is more' approach :)
and as streaker said read example essays, but don't try to copy direct from what they've written. this results in writing that doesn't flow, and just appears to have a clever phrase for the sake of including a clever phrase.
