Is there any way to do really well in the GAT(2011)?

I was in year 11 this year and had my first experience with the GAT. As I recall on that day, I wasn't quite focused so I had the feeling I won't be doing as well as i would have liked. Anyhow, when results came they were pretty average: 2 were a little above state mean and 1 at state mean. I would really like to pump those numbers up if i could.Anyone with tips? suggestions? Is there any way to do better next year? Cheers.

The more important question is, does it matter?
The answer is no. Just focus on your real subjects. In most cases, the GAT isn't going to help you at all.

If you want to do well in the GAT, get previous year's ones and do them. This. Though, I don't really see the point of trying - it's there for back-up.

just wear a helmet/knee-pads to every exam you attend so the GAT wont mean a thing

According to the Nefario principle, the only way to increase your GAT score for english is to learn how to write the essay in the required structure
