Most of you have started studying for next year. So here's the most important tip I can give you right now.

USE VCAA DATA BOOKLET FOR EVERYTHING

if you need data (mass, etc), that is the only source. Any answers using data not from the booklet will be incorrect by vcaa's standard.

And if you don't learn to familiarise yourself with the booklet, the exam will rape you, very harshly, in a way that no one would enjoy. (got it? Get the data booklet now.)

Is it ok to use the 2010 vcaa chem data booklet? Or have they already released the 2011 data booklet?

Yeh, the study design is staying the same next year...changing in 2012...(unless they change their mind and extend it)

EDIT: they're extending study design to 2014...yay I can sell my books after all

2010 data book will be fine. Even 09 or 08 will suffice. You don't want to lose time (and possibly confidence) by fumbling around with the data book in the exam.
