Last minute decision: sociology, int studies or nat politics?

So after talking with my coordinator, I now feel like I have reached a point on the road where there is a 3 way split, being: sociology, int studies or nat pol as my last confirmed subject. Due to timetabling, my classes had to be dramatically shuffled around and so with three days to go till school starts, I'm actually still selecting that last subject. Can anyone give me pointers? I've listed the following concerns for each subject, can anyone give me information about them?

Sociology:
-I've heard that haileybury dominates because the top examiner is an ex-hail teacher?? Is this going to really affect my chances of scoring highly?
-Also, it scales down slightly-I have never come to a conclusion whether this is significant or not!

Int.Studies:
-I think the only problem is personal here: it seems to be so wide-ranging-covering so much! But this isn't a huge problem really
-Hard to score highly in (I NEED a 43+) in the 5th subject

Nat.Pol:
-Compared to int is less wide-ranging, scales up as well, but it also seems extremely difficult to score well in??

Yeah, like I said 3 days to go before I start and I just cannot choose. Please help me! :'(

Imo dont choose a subject because of scaling, choose whichever you feel most comfortable with and that you think you can score well in.
Do you go to Haileybury? Because you say they dominate, you shold have a strong cohort which is a good thing. I dont think sociology scales down much if you get above 40 (correct me if im wrong)

Yep just choose which ever subject you enjoy the most, you're more likely to score higher that way :)

I have absolutely no experience with sociology, but I've always considered International and National Politics to be equal (in terms of difficulty). Actually I think National is easier, but that's just my opinion. On the other hand international is very interesting, I just found it hard to have control over every aspect of it.

So yeah, do national. :P

Thank you for the advice, yeah I think I've thought about comparing int and nat pol and I definitely think that nat pol would be better for me! Still deciding between nat pol and sociology! :P

Do you know very much about either subject? It might be worth reading the VCAA website and/or wiki, to see what these subjects involve. Definitely choose on the basis of interest rather than on the basis of scaling, etc. When you remove all that external stuff from the equation, you'll probably make decisions that you are ultimately happier with because you'll be doing the subject you like the most.

Also, have a think about what you might like to study at a university level (I know that this may not necessarily make things easier though, lol), would you prefer to study politics/international relations or would you prefer sociology/history/psychology? Or even have a think about what you might like to for your job too.

if you do either nat pol or inter studs, im more then happy to help you with anything from them.

nat pol should be easier this year as there is no federal election or mid term primaries or president elections in america.

i dont know about sociology. haha. its my elective for uni, but anything for the other two subs i can help you with.
goals
nat pol = 42+
international studies = 30+
Engrish = 30+
Legal studies = who cares

Thanks for the advice! At the moment, I've chosen sociology. I don't really have any idea what kind of areas I will be studying at university, just that I hope to do an arts degree and narrow it down from there! (So I'm afraid I can't factor that in presently)
But I've had a good look over each of the study designs again and it seems that although Australian history (one of my other subjects) and sociology don't overlap, they do kind of complement each other, and thus that is why I have chosen sociology over internash and nat pol  :)
I've still got till tomorrow to report my choice, but I think I have made the right decision for me! Thanks everyone for your help :D
