Redoing chem?

Hey guys.. quick question... I did chem 3/4 last year and got a 33... have been pretty depressed ever since.. I went to TSFX lectures and everything.. but think i bombed out on unit 3, which brought my marks down.. would you reccomend redoing it? I know i'd get a better mark.. since i'm pretty sure I just had a bad day on the exam.. (I did well on the trial exams.. mostly A+es)

I'm doing 5 subjects this year, all of which I like, and this would mean dropping one of them, so i'm in a dilemma :/

Nope. don't do it. Only redo a subject if it hasn't met a uni pre-req or if it's WELL below what you need. 33 will get marked up to like  38ish anyway. Just work hard on 3 subjects + english and your bottom two will have a negligible affect on your atar. Just make sure 3 subjects + english are as high as possible that's what's gonna get you the highest atar, not redoing chem. And 33 isn't even bad considering it's your first year 12 subject! You'll only improve from there :)

I agree. Only consider re-doing Chemistry if you could potentially do a lot better than what you could with other subjects (including scaling). 38 scaled is a damn good score though, so unless you desperately need a really high ATAR score and you don't think you'd be able to achieve it with your current subjects, don't do it.

Aw thanks guys, I guess I will stick with what I have, and concentrate on getting the highest I can with what I've got :)
I guess the main factor in my indecisiveness, was the fact that most of my year level are doing chem this year, constantly talking about it etc.. sorta made me feel underaccomplished :P

Not worth it just to obtain a higher number that isn't practical (eg prereq).

Just put your energy into your other subjects.
