Pencil only, you even sign your name in pencil. Don't let pen touch that MC paper :)

unless you want to run the risk of the scanner not picking up your pencil marks i'd srsly advise against it

^ Yep. But having said that, if you start writing in pencil instinctively, don't freak, just continue writing in pen and don't worry about going over anything. They have back up mechanisms, you'll be okay.

I'm going to be writing in pencil though, 2B! :\ Teacher and chief examiner etc have all said it's okay as long as you don't smudge it or anything!

There's a box that you need to sign to confirm that details are correct. Should be up on VCAA's website under sample covers or something.

I think the machine reads 2B best but it doesn't really matter.

What happens if we smudge? Because I'm left handed and that happens no matter if I use pen or pencil... :/

Can't you just get a pen that doesn't smudge much? As long as your answers are legible it'll be okay. They won't let your exam get zero because it's too difficult to read unless the answers are completely unreadable.

:O pencil for signature?

Also should it be 2B or 4B or 1B or :S

Umm - I've signed every MC sheet in pen - even last years.

Alas - USE PENCIL FOR THE BOXES. the amount of times you need to rub it out as you've missed a question and they're all wrong is utterly ridiculous. Just suck it up and use a pencil :)

I never said you couldn't do it, but you are meant to sign in pen :)
