bad SITUATION NEED TIPS GOGOGO

okay, here is thesituation
i  had eng sac on context on wednesday.
pretty much screwed  up on it.
tried to write a narrative, and it was in the form of someone giving a speech,
didn't take into account an audience,
so i actually did put lots of killing in it and stuff, (context = rugmaker ie conflict)
the writing itself wasn't very descriiptive, and it ended up being quite wordy, roughly 4 pages of writing in 2 periods.

I HAVE
62 MINUTES EXTRA tmrw,
NOW
should i try to rewrite maybe, everything from page 2-4
and then try to squeeze in a SOI?

OR should i just continue my crappy story and try to write SOI?

honestly, i think im going to get like 18/30 with my current story,             -----> BIG no no because i hav a relatively unknown skilled cohort (if that makes sense).
how much would i be penalised for a story below word count, and a small SOI?

How many words is an SOI generally?

thanks

Statement of intention - 200 or so words should suffice. That's about one handwritten page.

Also, 18/30's about normal. I know good students who were getting those marks last year. Our cohort didn't do as well at English as usual, but still...

This was exactly my situation in the crucible context! I ended up writing mine all over again from the start (I hated it so much LOL), and my hand nearly broke off :P If you feel as though you can get it done in time then restart (if you're really not happy with it). Otherwise, just see if you can make modifications to it..  A SOI is usually 200-250/300 words I think

If I was on that situation, I'd rewrite it, but that's only me

BTW do we need the SOI for exams? or is that just a thing with teachers?

Only with school SAC's. You don't (and aren't allowed to) use a SOI in exams, which means that - if you're writing creatively - you have to be a bit more explicit with meaning in the exam. However, use it to it's full effect in your SAC's because it's not a tool to ignore!

It's basically a free ticket to tell the teacher just in case you didn't notice, I referenced this, this, and this which was subtle in my essay which allows the examiner to go back through your essay and pick up on the subtleties that they might have missed in their first read. It should be obvious to an intelligent reader/marker as long as you write well.

But it will be ignored if you write one in the exams.

Oh thank god, I was just worried cuz we never used to do SOI until the expository SAC last week.
