Is there any difference between DNA Recombination/Genetic transformation? And while we are in the subject, can someone please explain what VCAA defines as genetic technique and genetic tool? What I mean by this is: is DNA profiling a technique and a restriction enzyme is a tool, perhaps?

Transformation is when external DNA is taken up by a cell, recombination refers to the joining of previously separate DNA sequences
