In the VCAA 2000 exam (actually, board of studies 2000 o_O no VCAA yet), there was this sketch given;

and then they ask you to give the equation of the graph.

The official answers and the answers in checkpoints say its meant to be

but shouldn't it be
?

and YES, I know a is negative, but I thought having a pronumeral should take care of that regardless? I mean, you don't label cartesian axes with distances, so there should be an implied negative within the a pronumeral

Yeh I'm getting that too every time I enter my own thread ahaha, was wondering when someone else would mention it. It's because I'm hosting the image on a free web site hosting server, so the root server I guess has been caught for malware or whatever by some idiots using it to host malware. I assure you its not from my site <.<
