thats bs dude, i got A on spesh exam 2 and im 100% sure i did better than 50% on it. Along with A+ from exam 1 that gives me 38 raw.
Maybe you thought you did better than you really did, cause my teacher has taught spec for 20 years and said 50 % most years will get you an A. Maybe you got a little better and got a high A.

Well, it's designed so that if you know exactly what you're doing, you'll be able to finish it. However, if your recall time isn't top-notch, you're in trouble. 1 minute per mark is perfect if you want time to check.

Depends on what you are good at

The relative importance enjoyment vs aptitude depends on a) how much you want a particular ENTER and  b) your chances of getting that ENTER with and without the subject chosen for pragmatic reasons

Errr i know this doesn't fit in with the general arguement/conversation...but. How competitive (hard) is it to transfer from commerce at Monash to a law/comm double degree? Is that even worthwhile?

My point is please refrain from selective quoting to make it appear like I'm arguing something which I'm not.
A rather onerous task given the forceful first statement of your post. But in any case, apologies for that.

What do you mean by worthwhile? It'd probably be easier to get in at the start rather than transfer, and anyway there's obviously no guarantees.

Don't want to be the devil's advocate, but according to this http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2007/section3/vce_specialist_maths_ga07.pdf you need pretty impressive results to get an A. Considering an A+ was 36/40- and an A being >32/40 in examination 1, i doubt 50% would take you anywhere near an A. But on topic, if you're capable, and you believe you can do it- by all means. However, i'd advise doing spesh if you don't have an instinctive liking to maths. the reason for this is- there are plenty of people out there that love their maths, and they will be achieving all the top marks. One more thing, thre is no use doing spesh if you plan to get ~25-30, because the scaling would only take it to ~38-41. IMO, if you spent that time on another subject (history or whatever), that feat could be beaten quite comfortably.

Definitely do not need Spesh to get 99.00+. Although it could help, depending on how good you are at it.
