is it true that, with the two prompts, one will be character based and one will be theme based?

Although I was inclined to say no, a brief glance over the sample exam seems to show that VCAA is trying to do that since I actually couldn't find any cases where they didn't have one character and one theme topic. But yeh, I don't think theres a guarantee on it, so don't take it for a fact as I haven't seen any official statement saying it'd be like that.

Themes are not my strength, nor do I think they are a strength to anyone else. If they are... You know who you are; I will just leave it at that! :)

i seriously do not know how to write a character based essay. Themed essays are so easy beause you just have like 3 ideas, and your 3rd one is always going to be bolts interpretation or something like that, so you just need to find 2 more. lol. that's just me anyway

I'm with mike =T I actually find themes easier than characters. I always tend towards retelling the story for character essays...
