Ear plugs

Do you wear ear plugs for exams?
I'm contemplating on wearing ear plugs (never did) for my methods exam tomorrow.
I can't stand a lot of things. Eg: When someone taps their pencil repeatedly on the table, someone tapping their feet, sniffling, constant coughing.
But I'm scared I won't hear the announcements (if there are any).  :(

When you're in "the zone" you probably won't notice anything.

This.
Believe me you do not notice anything for the entire exam. Might want to check with your examiners if you are allowed ear plugs, they might think they are headphones :P

Haha yeah some of the exam supervisors are quite old...some might not know the difference between ear plugs and headphones :p

But I agree - once you're in the zone, you just fly and don't notice anything or anyone around you that much.

I think I must be one of the most annoying people to be doing an exam in the same room as. I somehow always end up rustling the sheets of paper around so much (because I keep going back and forth between different questions), and for some reason when I cross things out it is so loud! I just noticed that in the Eng Lang exam yesterday lol. Ugh and I accidentally kicked my table really hard in the middle of the exam. Embarrassing!

lol, in my accounting exam today, I felt really bad because every time I rubbed something out with my pacer eraser, it was so worn down, that the plastic outing of the pacer was scratching against the paper making noise :P

LOL ;D was it really loud? I would have burst out laughing in the middle of the exam if that happened in our room!

There's this girl at my school who always says 'bless you' when people sneeze in the middle of an exam. Well, I think she doesn't do it anymore because they're actual VCAA exams, but she did back in Years 10 and 11.

You won't notice a thing. You most probably won't even look up until you finish :)

It depends on the person as to how much they notice things.

In my exam today I was in the very back row with a door behind me. In the subject to my right, about 10% of the cohort were still there when the exam ended. This means about 100 people walked through the door behind me. I probably noticed about 5 of them.

I have worn ear plugs for every exam i've done - it helps me hear my own voice in my head and comprehend the questions needs more efficiently.

Totally agree with this concept. Nothing can really distract you once your at this stage.
