Publishing a book?

Hi all.

I'm just in the process of writing a book at the moment (just in the early planning stages at the moment). Having never been involved with book publishing before, I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the procedure needed to get a book published. Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Eh. It is very hard from what I've heard. I started writing a story over 6 months ago. I might find it and post it lol

If it's fiction, you should join the Vic Writer's Centre, and maybe get an agent. You can also send your manuscript directly to publishers, but some won't accept unsolicited manuscripts. If you're really serious, you should really pick up a copy of the Australian Writer's Marketplace. Increase your exposure also by getting short stories and articles published.
