Hey guys,

I finished VCE in 2007 and am currently studying Science at the University of Melbourne.  I will be offering tutoring in any of the above subjects (in descending order of preference.) I have been tutoring for almost two years now, and for many years at high school I have helped my friends and peers understand the concepts necessary for their courses. Within a tutorial, I like to either help with problems that you (the tutee) have with the material, going through a methodical approach that is an effective and efficient way of finding the answer, or, working through chapters of the text book, to either advance or consolidate knowledge. As I have further knowledge of these subjects from university, I hope that the I can impart some wisdom on concepts that may not be clearly explained in the texts.

I believe that it is best that students understand how things work, not just being able to regurgitate an answer with no understanding of it. I will endeavour to ensure that my students have as deep an understanding as possible.

As far as my 'qualifications' go, I had an ENTER of 99.55, with the relevant (raw) study scores being:

* Specialist Maths: 46
* Physics: 45
* Maths Methods: 41
* Chemistry: 44
* UMEP Mathematics: 5
* English: 44
* Information Processing & Management: 42
* First year Uni: H1s for Chemistry, Physics and Maths, average of 92% - Dean's Honour List
* Second year Uni: (so far) H1s for Maths and Physics, average of of 95%

Tutoring will occur at either the state library, or a more convenient location for people living in the Cities of Glen Eira or Stonnington. My rate is $30/hour, but can be negotiated.

You can contact me via private messages on these forums, or preferably email: markATkowarsky.id.au

I did methods in year 11, so I assume it was lack of maturity that meant that I was not as rigorous as I was during year 12.

Either the State Library of Victoria, or if you happen to live in Glen Eira or Stonnington, somewhere more convenient.

As a university classmate of mark_alec's I've had the pleasure of discussing many topics in science with him, of which his understanding and insight is often beyond my own. Highly recommended.
