hey
could anyone explain what a "fringe ENTER" is and how it's different to the "Clearly in ENTER"?
For example:
To get into Business Information Systems at Monash (Clayton)
- the Clearly in ENTER is 87.00
- the Round 1 Fringe ENTER is 78.25

Thnx

The point above which the majority (between 90-95 per cent) of offers were made. The fringe ENTER may sit above or below the clearly-in ENTER. Factors taken into account may include a course middle-band bonus or consideration; SEAS access and equity or year 12 special consideration; and other institutional bonus schemes. So basically if you get between the clearly in ENTER and the Fringe Enter you may still be eligible for a place but they have to take into consideration other factors such as your performance in the prerequisite subjects.

Yes if the course code ends with 1 it's regarding a CSP place.

They abolished full fee places, so all places given to local students are CSPs, iirc.

CSP place, sorta like atm machine, lol (just realised).

OMG the course code for busniess information systems is : 3333 !
Does that mean CSP's are not offered to ppl who get between the fringe and the clearly ENTER?

It's 28421 according to VTAC. 28423 for the international variant. Where'd you get the 3333 from?

There's only 1s and 3s now. If you get a spot, it'll be commonwealth supported.

That's Monash's internal code, not VTAC's.

The Clearly-In ENTER is the score at which you're guaranteed a place in the course.

The Round 1 Fringe ENTER is the lowest score at which the university offers you a place in the course during the first round of offers, according to demand and supply.

I got into the same course that you mentioned (Business Info Systems) with an ENTER of 80.85, which was under the clearly in score but over the Fringe ENTER, meaning I was offered a first-round CSP place. Anybody with an ENTER over 78.25 that applied for the course would have also received one as well.

If you get an ENTER of over 97, you may even be eligible for a fully-paid CSP scholarship.  :)
