In mathematical terms, isn't this exponential or something?
Like there would be a 'speed limit' or something similar where we can not go any faster?


Drag force is proportional to the square of speed, so at high speeds if you speed up just a bit the drag force will go up by a lot. Drag force can simply be overcome by more force from the athlete though, so it's not really a barrier. In the future I reckon athletes will be wearing aerodynamic clothing and will bending forwards more when running so they get less drag.
If you raced in a vacuum at nearly the speed of light you could finish the race in about seconds  ;D

Just gotta wait for the drug tests to come through, it was a really impressive run apparently. Are there any youtube links for the race, since I haven't seen it yet as I was out last night.
