Javascript bandwith

I've gone over my monthly usage so I'm trying to use as little as possible when browsing. I currently browse with no pictures and no javascript (turned off via Firefox preferences). This makes sure I don't see javascript/pictures however does it actually prevent them from being loaded?

(Browsing with javascript off is quite annoying, but no pictures are okay).

Thanks to whomever can help.

I'll give a full answer in the morning, if needed. My brain is mush.

But, short answer: savings will not be significant generally as a direct result of turning off JavaScript but may be significant as an indirect effect, depending on the sites you visit. Tools like NoScript for Firefox will also disable Flash and Java applets which you can turn on at your own accord - these tend to be sizable.

JavaScript is only a programming scripting language after all - it just directs your computer to do stuff.

There are other benefits to turning it off, though, but are to do with security rather than bandwidth economising.

In response to your query about pictures, I don't see why they'd be loaded - but I'm not familiar with this part of Firefox personally.

Yeah - That question was not needed. My mistake. I didn't really look at the description next to the tickable box (as it specifically mentions loading of pictures).
