I checked the internet and there seems to be different sizes - one with 3.5"? Or are all hard disks 2.5"?

I believe full sized desktop computers use 3.5", laptops use 2.5", so you'll be looking at the 2.5"

This is correct.
Ok here's my problem.

I have a laptop not working due to the video card. Hard drive is fine. How do I remove my hard drive and backup the files within?

You'll have to open it up, if you're alright with voiding warranty.

Not necessarily. I opened mine up to backup my hard drive before sending it in under warranty, and they accepted it fine! :D

And, I did specifically mention the 2.5 inch enclosure multiple times in my posts. :S

But was it obvious that you opened it up though? Don't some laptops make it obvious that it's been opened?

Not the one I have, no. It's just a small bay with 2 philip screws which you can take out and put back in. Seems like it's never been touched before!

Nah.. opening the hard drive compartment doesnt void warranty...

The warranty seal is stuck over some other compartment which Im not sure about...
