Academic and General has many study guides (I know they have "Biol Notes", and I'm assuming other things). It is in Swanston Street.

Here is Academic and General Bookstores site.  Got all there details there.

When's that VCE expo on? Lots of study guides there.

The Age one? Thats on the 25th and 26th of April.

I was thinking of going to the expo and buying all my required study guides there.  They usually have discounts at the expo.  I've also bought The Age's VCE Success Subscription package so free entry will also come in handy.

Apart from the start-of-year camp, that expo was the only other excursion we had. I didn't buy my guides there (I was silly enough to think my teachers would be enough), but some classmates got those A+ notes thingies there at cheaper prices than what I got them for later on at a nearby bookstore (forgot its name, somewhere in epping).

SSRC has more or less a pretty complete collection of materials, though you have to learn to not be hot headed and give in to the old guy's advertising. Head west from cnr Collins and Swanston, it's on the left in an arcade [Emirates House].

Ah yes. The infamous SSRC guy... He's quite the Checkpoints hater so just insist that you want to buy it if he says otherwise.
