This kid, named Mustafa was awarded number 1 in ENTIRE turkey, out of possible 1.6 million students who sat there final exams in schooling History.

The system over their is very difficult, you prepare over 3 yrs for a single 3 hr exam with 190 multiple choice question. In the entire exam, there are different sections, and depending on your pathway, you decide the most important section.

Anyways this kid received a perfect 190 right answer.
And in a report i read in turkish, he mentioned that he only went to the toilet and ate in the kitchen through out the entire. He blocked entire social life...
Truly amazing kid.

Beside our fare system in Australia, does anyone have any other stories to share about the Education system outer Australia.  Im sure most people here have another nationality beside Australia.

If his parents forced him to do that - the poor, poor kid.
If it was done out of his own free will - o.O I want some of that self-discipline!! What a boring life though :P

He might have done well in that test, but I pity his social / communication skills that would've atrophied during his self-imposed incarceration.

Getting a job will be tough, as clever as he is, if he lived here. There is much more emphasis on the above than academic results these days...

Telling the media his recipe of isolationism wasn't a smart move for his job prospects - although he is still a very valued asset. Soft skills are far easier to build than marks - that's something that will be set in stone as a qualification now.

I was imaging someone doing #1's all over a student when I read the topic.  But this is just sad.

Dude!!!
How would you know if it's going to be tough for him to get a job, He plays sports, however for one yr, he just isolated him self from social activities.
Dude, you get an education is pretty tough anywhere in the world, its not like here in Australia. Where we are granted with so many opportunities. And the system is easy here, in comparison to other nations

Assuming he was all normal the year before, I admire him. It is a great show of self-discipline and he was rewarded with marks that befit the effort (actually the effort was probably too great for just getting full marks). And indeed in Asian countries it is not unheard of, especially given the high level of competition not just at a high school level but even at a primary school level. Australia has a different culture in that respect

Having being through a number of graduate recruitment processes, I'm pretty sure that marks matter less the further you go along in the process...
