hah yep there's definitely no credit/transfers to monash MBBS.

well yeah UTAS is 99/100%ile for interstate school leaver applications as they only accept 5 per year but there second round offers can be a bit lower, but it's not too common.

i suggest going through the http://www.medstudentsonline.com.au/showthread.php?t=4015 here as i suggested awhile ago if you have it working and finding the 5-year ones you like. im sure with your scores and if you do well in the interview you'll be fine with atleast one :)

hehe yeah I already did it, they are the five year ones I posted before.

are you aiming for 5-year as well?

if i don't get in what do you reckon is the best option?
-take a gap year and apply for 5 year mbbs again for 2012  (maybe do vce again? and obviously umat too)
-apply for 6 year mbbs as well, and do that if i get in
-do biomed for 3 years and then do DM at for 4 year at UoM

too much to think about lol

superflya- graduate entry is actually more competitive and going a 3-year bachelor's degree keeping a very high 'competetive' average is tiresome in conjunction with (in 3rd or 2nd year) studying for a GAMSAT exam that plays a part in your entry for graduate med. but you wont need to GAMSAT if 99+ to apply for UoM, just a 75%+ and well at the interview, but we dont know how 'true' that is as UoM is probably the most prestigious medical school in australia but hmm.

coldstone-
nah the three unis i want to go to consist of two which are 6 years. but i also like a 4th uni which is also 6 year haha.

what's DM btw?

i'd suggest (even though im sure you'd get in somewhere, there's no way bond especially would deny if high UMAT/ENTER) to either
* work on the UMAT during the year somemore, do an extra 2 subjects or even just one to raise your ENTER/UMAT, and work a bit to get some money to apply for those unis again, and you'll definitely get a place somewhere
* if your scores are all high enough, take the year off to relax and such, going away, working full time... then apply for those unis again
* or you can do one year of a bachelor's degree and apply for bond, UTAS with a high GPA (if you study hard) and you'll most likely get a place if you have a high UMAT. since UTAS doesn't have an interview, if you have a high GPA and do well on the UMAT you'll most likely know your in.

its all up to you haha

@ superflya

because biomed plus medical degree takes 7 years, whereas med degree on it's own takes 5 or 6 years depending on where you go to uni.

@ vexx

more subjects?  my coordinator already is flipping that I am doing 5 lol.  unless you mean next year?  i think you mean next year lol.
end of the day there is no point worrying about it because at the end of the day if I miss out, it will be a minimum of 6 years after school anyway.

if i have to leave melbourne (which short of a miracle, will most likely be the case) ideally I wan't to go to UWS for 5 year mbbs.

and yeah, adelaide seems boring.  and they only have 6 year mbbs anyway.  I would rather do 6 year mbbs in WA.  it is pretty sweet over there.
