I made some silly mistakes... like... I misunderstood an easy question and I used the wrong particle (grammar stuff) a few times,
When we finished our French oral (it was a partner thing) our tutor actually laughed at us for making really stupidly basic grammar mistakes
(she's not mean-spirited, just makes fun of everyone including herself xD)
What level was it? Do you get your topic beforehand?
Ha ha... well, the sensei examining me was quite nice.
My Monash ID photo is really dodgy, coz the machine that prints them fked up when it did mine (in my photo, I am interesting hues of blue).
I made this random comment... I was like "Strange photo, isn't it?"
She laughed, agreed with me, but said it was okay.
Anywayz >.>
I'm only Japanese 2... so it's not exactly hard compared to the stuff you're doing in German and French... it was still very challenging for me though!
Umm... it was basically a random conversation/interview where they could ask us just about anything we've learned to speak about so far.
The Qs were not too difficult, but the nature of Japanese grammar and sentence patterns can make it very difficult to give a good response quickly.
See... in English... you can say something like "I went to university" then, as an afterthought, you can add "last week", then you could even add "by train".
You don't have to have the whole sentence in your head before you say it, and it can still sound okay in the end.
Japanese is different though... the 'afterthoughts' like "last week" and "by train" go at the start of a sentence... so I kept saying simple responses like "I went to university", then thinking of better, more informative responses that I could have said like "I went to university by train last week".
I dunno if that made sense... 4h of sleep = Jess sucks @ explaining, lol.
