Scotch College in lockdown after threat

Students at Melbourne's exclusive Scotch College have been locked in their classes after a threat was made to the school.

Heavily armed police are blocking nearby intersections, with a helicopter hovering over the college.

Police are at the entrances to the college and have advised all those inside not to leave the building.

A police spokeswoman said the threat was being taken seriously, but would not reveal details of the threat, which was believed to have been made via a phone call.

Parents have been allowed to evacuate children, as police in flak jackets surround the school.

I'm sure if a threat was made to some ordinary school, none of these actions would be taken.

Lol, yeah I was in physics at the time lol, I thought it was a joke at the start but then I thought there was a zebra lurking outside...
So drastic though, I cant believe the precautions they took, im sure its more dangerous to stay in the place where the threat is aimed rather than leaving the place rofl, so counter intuitive what they did.
Funnily enough our physics teacher actually tried to teach us for the first time ever (at a time when no one was really listening...)

Our physics teacher for the first time actually TRIED to teach the class, but no one was listening...

nice maybe we need some more bomb threats to get our teachers to teach.

EDIT: But I gotta admit those police in "flak" jackets were loaded man, they had like 2 pistols, Shotguns, Assault Rifles, Kevlar and a few grenades. Real life CS ftw.

LoL i have to admit waiting was kind of fun, we barricaded the physics door with chairs, shut the blinds, and armed ourselves with crowbars and 12V batteries for artillery

But they cost like $600.  I know it's Scotch, but it's not everyday you see students loaded with that much money.
