Mine is working

NB - I would advise against buying textbooks until you have been to at least the first lecture. There is a decent chance your text book list is not 100% accurate :P

Anyone doing law1011 at monash know which books we actually need to buy?
Intro to legal reasoning?

You "need" The Australian Legal System and Mastering Legal Studies and Law Exam Techniques or whatever it's called.

In reality I didn't need either of those, though the Mastering Legal Studies one was semi-helpful. Somewhat. Ahhh it's a stupid subject anyway.

pm me how so. id love to know more about it and any advice would be helpful/useful. weve already got that fricking assignment and i havent lifted a pen since november and am lacking all motivation.

LOL the assignment...I made a start on it. I went to the County Court on Williams St. and listened to a hearing for some guy who was accused of threatening another guy with a "modified fork"...it was actually fascinating to listen to.
But I agree, I also lack all motivation :S

I went to the Magistrates Court and just saw lots of short hearings involving incredibly stupid people doing dumb things.

I think that's generally why people end up in court XD
Did you find that you were often the only "outsider" inside the courtroom? I felt SO awkward...my mum and I were the only "outsiders" when we went and listened - I noticed that everyone else in there knew the defendants in some way!
